Current Activities

We actively engage in internships, industry collaborations, and capacity-building initiatives across multiple domains. Each participant will receive a customised work plan, devised by the Social Factor program co-ordinator and the participant, so that the participant may complete their academic requirements and have a fulfilling experience in the program.Participants will be given guidance and supervision along the way, while they develop their competence

Academic internships

  • Agriculture & Sustainable Farming – Hands-on training in modern and traditional farming techniques and conducting feasibility studies for agricultural development of an area providing on-ground platform for learning
  • Food Technology & Processing – Practical experience in food safety, processing, and value addition, market penetration
  • Visual Media & Documentation – Internships in digital storytelling, research documentation, and media production for impact oriented projects.
  • Social Work & Rural Development – Community engagement programs focused on social impact and rural upliftment.
  • Handloom – The Handloom Internship Program provides immersive training in traditional weaving, covering the entire workflow from raw materials to finished fabric, yarn specifications, fabric textures, loom handling, and thread selection, along with expert-led sessions on Kerala’s dyeing techniques, design patterns (Kara), and handloom motifs.

Collaborations & MoUs with educational instituitions

We have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading institutions in agriculture, food technology, media, and social work, facilitating 1-3 month internships that blend academic learning with real-world experience.

Training for rural women and marginalised communities 

Focuses on enhancing livelihood opportunities through skill development, sustainable entrepreneurship, and hands-on learning in agriculture, handicrafts, and value-added production.
